A message from Bro. Ray:

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Nativity and St. Charles,
I am writing to keep you updated on health issues during this emergency.  Last Monday night, the 23rd, I began to have some symptoms and on Tuesday morning had a temperature of 101 with a cough and the chills. I was tested on Tuesday but had to wait a week until I received the results.  I received the results this morning:  Positive for COVID 19.  My symptoms are minimal and are decreasing each day.  Hope to be symptom free in the next few days and then have to wait 3 more days to be considered free of the virus.  I truly got off easy on this one!  I should be raring to go within the week and then be immune to the virus so I may be able to help a bit.  I ask your prayers for the men of the ROPE House who are experiencing some symptoms at this time.  That is truly the heartbreak for me during this time.   Please know I appreciate your prayers and kindness during these days.
Hope everyone is doing well.  Please keep safe and thanks for all the ways both parishes are taking care of each other.  In the midst of this difficult moment, the grace of God is abounding in all the ways we love and care for one another.  God bless us all and let’s continue to pray for each other.
Love you all,
Br. Ray
P.S.  .  I would ask that you not call at this time.  On my best days, I hate the phone so please know your greatest gift to me is to text and not call.

Please check this page for information about when Bro. Ray will again be streaming Sunday Masses.

A diverse parish rooted in Detroit, Christ’s Gospel and Catholic tradition.

Who is FR. Solanus?

Fr. Solanus Casey was a humble Capuchin Friar who was credited with miraculous cures and valued for his wise and compassionate counsel. He spent his life in the service of people. Because of his holiness, Pope John Paul II declared him Venerable in 1995. Pope Francis has announced that he will be Beatified in November. People in Detroit already think of him as "Detroit's Saint."
